Blue Lagoon Boat Trips from Mellieħa: Top 5 Options

Staying in Mellieħa and want to book a Blue Lagoon boat trip?

I’ll explain how, from where, and what the best options are.

Mellieħa is located in the northern region of Malta Island. Just 5-10 minutes away from the heart of the seaside town, you’ll find the Ċirkewwa and Marfa ferry terminals, which tour company operators use as their departure points for boat trips to Comino.

How to Reach the Ċirkewwa or Marfa Ferry Meeting Points

Since Ċirkewwa and il-Marfa are part of Mellieħa, you can get to both terminals relatively quickly, compared to other localities on the island.

Especially if you’re staying close to Mellieħa Bay, you can technically head there on foot to get to your Blue Lagoon boat trip departure point. Since our summers are scorchingly hot, I recommend using either of the following modes of transport:

  • By Bus: Routes 1, 42, 101, 221, X1A, X299, X300, and TD1
  • Taxi: Use Bolt, Uber, or eCabs (download app) to book a taxi ride. Prices range from €5 to €10.

Tips from a Local 📝

  • Take note of the meeting point selected by your tour provider. Although they’re located quite close to each other, Ċirkewwa and Marfa are two separate terminals. The Ċirkewwa terminal is located near the Gozo Channel, while Marfa Quay is in front of the Riviera Spa Resort.
  • If you’d like to experience the highlights of Gozo and Comino but are pressed for time, opt for a combo two-island boat trip.
  • While most boat tour operators offer tours from mid-April throughout the peak months, you’ll find some that still organise day trips during the winter season (weather permitting).
  • Review all suggested boat tours and choose the one that suits you best, e.g. a family trip, a group of friends, or a special occasion.
