Looking to visit Comino and the famous Blue Lagoon from Sliema using the ferry (also referred to as the Comino ferry)?
You’ve come to the right place.
There’s no direct Sliema to Blue Lagoon ferry, but I will help you get to the right ferry location at Ċirkewwa/Marfa.
I’ll also show you the more convenient alternative by taking a (relatively inexpensive) boat tour from Sliema.
If you want to set foot on land, you need to book access tickets in advance; if you want to get there on a boat tour and stay on board, there’s no need!

On a budget? No problem! You can still plan a day at the Blue Lagoon by opting for public transport and the Comino ferry services in Ċirkewwa or Marfa.
From Sliema, you first need to use public transport – buses, taxis, or, if you’ve decided to drive, rental cars are available.
Although the journey is doable and is the cheaper way to travel compared to boat tours, you need to bear in mind a couple of things. In short, you do save a little money when opting for ferry services; however, you end up wasting a lot of time, and you’ll have a far less comfortable stay at the Blue Lagoon. Alternatively, you can opt for a boat tour (more info below!)
From Sliema, only Route 222 can take you to Ċirkewwa. This bus passes by several bus stops within the town, including Ferries 5, Chalet, and Exiles. If you’re staying in St. Julian’s, you can also take this bus.
A quick browse on the Malta Public Transport website or the Tallinja App shows you all the stops and their schedules. The Google Maps route planner is generally reliable for planning public transport trips as well.

I recommend taking a taxi if you don’t want to wait around for the bus to the Comino ferry terminal in Ċirkewwa. As for operators, download the respective apps, all of which are available on the App Store and Google Play Store:
Upon arrival at the terminal in Ċirkewwa or Marfa, there are two Comino ferry operators you can use to get to the Blue Lagoon:
Tickets can be purchased before you board the boat or online. You can expect to pay anything between €13 and €15 for a round-trip ticket, which includes a little tour of the famous Comino caves. Meanwhile, the ferry journey to Comino is around 25 – 35 minutes.
Generally, Comino Co-Op Ferries’ vessels operate from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, while Ebsons operate from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. I recommend checking the full ferry schedules on the respective websites.
