Experience natural wonders, iconic landmarks, cultural treasures, and hidden gems on this epic Gozo Jeep Tour.
This is such a fun way to explore Gozo and immerse yourself in its ancient history and natural beauty; compared to standard cars or tour buses, these jeeps offer a more thrilling experience, as they can navigate rough terrain and winding country roads.
To name a few stops and attractions on this Gozo and Comino day trip, you’ll visit the spectacular Basilica of Ta’ Pinu, the magnificent Cittadella in Victoria, the ancient Xwejni Salt Pans; still in use to this day to harvest salt, Ta’ Ċenċ Cliffs; the highest viewpoint on the island and Dwejra Bay and its geological wonders such as the Inland Sea; a lagoon of seawater that is connected to the open sea via a narrow 80-metre long tunnel.
You’ll have some time to relax and enjoy a light traditional Gozitan lunch during an extended stop.
Additionally, you are given the option to explore the Ġgantija Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised as one of the oldest free-standing structures on the Maltese archipelago and across the globe.
Alternatively, you can enjoy a stop at Calypso’s Cave. This location is thought to be the same place where the nymph Calypso imprisoned Odysseus for seven years in Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey. While the cave is closed to the public for safety reasons, from this vantage point, you can enjoy amazing views of Ramla Beach, Gozo’s largest beach, best known for its reddish-golden-hued sand.
On the way back to Malta, guests on this tour will board the company’s private vessel for a mini-cruise around Comino’s coastal wonders. During peak season, there is some free time allocated for a swim in the Blue Lagoon or the Crystal Lagoon (weather permitting).
Travelling to Malta in the peak summer months? Not keen on staying out in the scorching sun for a whole day? Check out the alternative Sunset Jeep Tour, Gozo & Comino Combo Tour.
This Gozo Jeep Tour and Comino combo tour starts with a mini cruise around Comino Island on Yippee’s private boat. Amongst the highlights, you’ll sail past the lagoons and caves, and even get the chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon or Crystal Lagoon.
Next, you’ll be taken to Gozo to meet your multilingual guide/driver to start the jeep tour. Here’s just a quick overview of some of the stops and pass-bys included in this tour: Ta’ Sanap Cliffs, Xlendi Bay, Cliffs and Caves, Dwejra Bay (Inland Sea, Fungus Rock, and Dwejra Watchtower), Ta’ Pinu Basilica and Shrine, Wied il-Għasri, Xwejni Salt Pans, Qbajjar and Marsalforn Bay.
Stops at the Ġgantija Temples or Calypso’s Cave are not included in this sunset tour; however, on early and late summer days, you will get the chance to visit the historic Citadel in Victoria, an ancient fortress that is essentially an open-air museum. You’ll have free time to wander around its charming alleys, visit the Cathedral and enjoy 360-degree views of the island from its bastions.
As night falls, you soak up Gozo’s panoramic views while watching the sunset. Pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as a light traditional Gozitan dinner, are included in the price.
Pooled transport from or near your hotel in Malta or Gozo is included in the price.
